Hello! Welcome to this new blog on Steven Page’s site.
My name is Liam, I’m the small guy with the funny accent who you may see pop up on stage and start slapping a box.
As much as it looks like a discarded crate of merchandise, it’s actually an instrument called a cajon – that’s what I tell Steven anyway. I’m very proud to be a small part of this tour joining Steven, Craig and Kevin once again, having jetted across the East and West Coasts of the US, and my homeland of the UK (twice) in the past few years.
You’ll also find me welcoming VIPs into the venues on this tour (tickets now available and highly recommended if you like fun), as well as incorrectly referring to records as “vinyls” on Steven’s Instagram.
Over the coming weeks I’m going to give you, dear readers, some insight / updates / salacious gossip as we travel across Canada. Having been informed the name Transcanada Highwaymen is taken, I will therefore be entitling this blog “Cajoning Across Canada” because, well, alliteration. I‘ll do my best to update this page on Page’s webpage whenever I’m not stuffing my face with poutine or misunderstanding basic geography by removing all the layers I packed because I assumed Canada was cold year-round.
Send blog requests in this direction – what would you like to read about? Are you intrigued as to what happens in the tour van? (I’ll tell you now: farts). Perhaps you’d like to delve into the glamorous life of services meal stops? (That’s “gas station”, we’ll work on a translate feature).
In short, I will try to be as helpful as I can to anyone hitting the road to see a show this May – so please say hello, follow along with this blog, and join the chat on twitter – I’m at @liammckinnon and you can also follow @stevenpagefans.
There’s a real buzz for this run of shows and we all can’t wait to get started!
